New Client FAQs | Spitz Groom
New Clients & Intake
Do I need to complete an intake form before booking?
Yes. All new clients are asked to complete our New Client Intake Request Form before their first appointment.
The form gives us important information about your dog, including their breed, age, coat, grooming history, behaviour, health considerations and your grooming goals. It helps our team determine the most appropriate appointment and prepare for your dog’s individual needs.
Why does Spitz Groom ask so many questions about my dog?
Because every dog is different.
Before we groom your dog for the first time, we want to understand their coat, grooming history, behaviour, preferences and any factors that may affect their experience.
This information helps us plan the appointment appropriately and, where possible, make the grooming experience safer, calmer and more comfortable for your dog.
Can I request an appointment without completing the intake form?
For new clients, we ask that you complete the intake form first. Once we have reviewed the information, we’ll recommend the most appropriate appointment and help you with the next step.
This isn’t about creating paperwork for paperwork’s sake. It’s about making sure we know who is coming through the door.
Can I choose exactly how I want my dog groomed?
Absolutely. We welcome your preferences and will discuss your grooming goals with you.
However, the final grooming plan may need to take into account your dog’s coat condition, coat type, behaviour, previous grooming experiences and overall welfare. If a requested style isn’t appropriate for your dog’s coat or wellbeing, we’ll explain why and recommend an alternative.
